Fort Huachuca – Sierra Vista, AR
A two-story adobe house, Carleton House, on this Army Post is said to be haunted by the ghost of a tall lady in white. The apparition has been seen many times in this house whcih now serves as an officer’s family quarters.
The house was built in 1880 and has served as a hospital, morgue, and a schoolhouse. One officer who lived there with his family, Brigadier General Roy Strom, and his family nicknamed the ghost lady Charlotte in the 1980s, and she has been called that ever since. They said she appeared wearing a light-colored gown with ruffled edges at the sleeves and hemline. The ghost is believed to be the spirit of a woman who died in the building when it was used as a hospital in the late nineteenth century.
Reports of pets acting strangely, things being strewn about, lights not working properly all the time, out of control doorbells and other strange things are a common occurance at this house,
